Kasimpasa vs Galatasaray Predictions

It’s certainly not been the most fruitful few weeks for Kasimpasa, who come into this match off the back of a 3-0 defeat last time out, while they’ve now lost four on the bounce. In terms of goals scored/conceded, they’ve not done anywhere enough going forward during that time and they’ve also been far too easy to get at. When in such form, a game against one of the chief title contenders isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered.

In general, Kasimpasa haven’t been playing well of late, though it must be said that they were unlucky to lose by such a heavy score-line last time out. In fact, given that they emerged with an expected goal difference of +0.89, they probably didn’t deserve to lose at all. On that occasion, they created plenty going forward, which is positive, though they need to offer more resistance at the back, as they shipped three goals without exactly conceding an abundance of chances.

They are in poor form right now and confidence isn’t likely to be too high after four straight defeats, though Sunday’s hosts have tended to play well at home this season, so they may not be feeling too downbeat. It must be said that they struggle at the back, which doesn’t bode well ahead of a match against Galatasaray, but the hosts have offered plenty going forward. They’re averaging a pleasing 2.3 expected goals for at home, while they’ve recently posted figures such as 1.24, 2.14, 2.18, 3.37 and 2.83. Such numbers tell us that Kasimpasa have very few problems when it comes to creating chances, while the fact that they’ve scored an average of two goals per game at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium shows that they’re capable finishers.

While Kasimpasa have thrived offensively at home, Galatasaray have looked rather weak on their travels of late. Sunday’s visitors have scored in each of their last three travelling matches, but they’ve not scored more than once during that time, while their most recent away-day effort, when posting just 0.65 expected goals for at Alanyaspor, was very discouraging.

In addition to their rather poor effort when last in action on the road, Galatasaray have generally been hit and miss when playing away from the comforts of home, especially offensively. They’ve failed to score in four of their ten away matches, while they’ve scored more than once in just two of the other six. Add in the fact that they’re averaging just 1.18 expected goals for and it’s easy to conclude that Galatasaray have been less than menacing from an attacking point of view.

The visitors have shown more in the defensive third than their hosts, but they will go into this game having played in the Europa League on Thursday, while they’re in the process of preparing for the return leg in Portugal, which comes just four days after this match.

Taking everything into consideration, it’s very easy to side with the hosts at the prices. Their recent attacking efforts at home have been more encouraging than Galatasaray’s on the road, while the visitors may not prioritise this fixture, as they’ve got a knockout Europa League fixture just around the corner. All in all, the hosts probably merit being a tad shorter and thus a bet on them to avoid defeat at the current prices represents a touch of value.
