Kilmarnock vs Dundee United Betting Tips & Predictions

Kilmarnock earned a point on Wednesday in their penultimate game of the regular season against Dundee, but points aren’t of any use to them at the moment. They are already resigned to having to play out a Scottish Premiership relegation playoff at the end of the season against the winner of the Scottish Championship promotion playoff.

This will mean they face either Hibernian or Falkirk, who play the second leg of their tie on Friday, for the chance to remain in the Scottish top flight. A win in their final game of the season could provide them with the confidence boost that they need ahead of this crucial match.

The struggling club come into this game having won two, lost two, and drawn two of their last six matches, but prior to this they had lost five and drawn one of their previous six matches.

It could be worse for the hosts though; they could be Dundee United. The visiting side were mathematically relegated a couple of weeks ago, but it had been in the pipeline for them all season. They have managed just 28 points from their 37 games so far.

Ironically, their relegation has brought about a bit of an improvement though. They came from two goals down against Partick Thistle on Tuesday to draw 3-3 with them, with this coming under a week after they impressively beat Inverness CT 3-2 away from home after going three goals up. This victory ended Dundee United’s five match winless streak.

The visitors have been very impressive in their last two outings in the Scottish Premiership, scoring six goals and picking up four points, and they will want to bow out in style on Saturday. Kilmarnock will be gunning for a confidence boost as well though, and both teams have been shocking defensively this season.
