      Kilmarnock vs Forfar Predictions

Premiership challengers Kilmarnock will host an in-form Forfar Athletic at Rugby Park on Saturday. Can Killie make it through to the next round?

2018 was a fantastic year for Kilmarnock, as the club was able to pull away from the relegation last season and finish in 5th place. This new season has seen the club continue to impress everyone in Scottish football, as Killie currently sits in 3rd place just one points behind both Celtic and Rangers, meaning that they are in the midst of title race.

Kilmarnock’s year was all the more spectacular when you take into account that the club picked up the most points out of any other Premiership side, a total of 74 throughout the calendar year. The fans have Steve Clarke to thank, as the Killie manager has been the architect in all of the club’s successes over the last year.

Kilmarnock haven’t lost since being defeated by Celtic at the start of December, and since then they have gone on to win three of their next four games, drawing once too. The club had no luck in the League Cup, despite topping their group during the pre-season period. Rangers were able to knock Clarke’s side out thanks to a Morelos hat-trick, but the club will be eager to take another punt at a cup run.

Forfar Atheltic will be in for a tough 90 minutes at Rugby Park on Saturday. The League One side avoided relegation from the division last season when they finished seven points above Queen’s Park, and their luck seems to have changed for this new campaign.

The Loons appointed Jim Weir to save them from relegation, and the manager did just that. In fact, Forfar’s story is similar in many ways to Killie’s, as the Angus club now sits in a positive 4th place position, picking up 33 points from 21 games and ensuring that they continue fighting for promotion.

December started off poorly for the Sky Blues, as they lost twice. However, Forfar would go on to win twice in their next two games, only losing to East Fife prior to the last game of the year. 2019 has seen the club start strongly, with two consecutive wins for the club over Dumbarton and Stranraer.
