KV Oostende vs Gent Betting Tips & Predictions

KV Oostende have had a promising season in the Belgian Pro League. They managed to secure a 4th place finish in the regular season after finishing down in 10th last term, and they’ve managed to hold their own in the Championship matches too.

They come into this match having won three of their last four games after picking up just one point from their opening four Championship matches. This puts them in 5th position in the table, but a win on Thursday would see them go level on points with Gent.

Gent sit in 3rd position, but with six points between them and the Champions League qualification of 2nd they need to win both of their remaining matches and hope that Anderlecht lose both of their final games.

At the moment it looks unlikely that Gent can manage to pick up the maximum number of points. They come into this match on the back of three straight deefats and picking up eight points from their opening four Championship games. Defeats at Anderlecht and at home to Club Brugge are understandable, but Sunday’s 4-2 loss at Zuite-Waragem is unacceptable.

KV Oostende’s impressive season has been built around a solid home record. They have only lost two of their last ten home matches in the Pro League, and both of them have come against Belgian champions Club Brugge.

Gent, on the other hand, have seen their season fall apart due to their away record. They have managed just one win from their last nine away days in all competitions, and seven of these nine have ended in defeat.

KV Oostende will be in higher spirits at the moment as well due to Gent’s three match losing streak, so I think the hosts have an excellent chance on Thursday. Odds of 3/4 for a KV Oostende Win or Draw Double Chance look exceptionally good value, and I’m backing a 2-1 win for the hosts at 11/1 too.
