Lazio to Win

Reason for tip

Lazio are unbeaten in their last eight league games, winning seven times during that run and only conceding one goal. Torino, meanwhile, are without a win in four outings, losing twice during that ssequence and squandering an early lead against Salernitana last week.

Lazio 2-0

Reason for tip

Lazio have seen 10 of their last 11 wins accompanied by a clean sheet, and their tally of 20 goals conceded in Serie A is the lowest in the division this season. Torino, meanwhile, have only outscored six teams in the Italian top flight this campaign, all of whom currently sit 14th or lower in the table.

Mattia Zaccagni To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Lazio will be without striker Ciro Immobile after he was injured in a car accident this week. In his absence, joint-top goalscorer Zaccagni – who has 10 league goals this term and two in his last two home games – could shoulder the attacking burden.

Lazio vs Torino Predictions

  • Lazio are unbeaten in their last eight league games, winning each of their last four.
  • Torino, meanwhile, have gone four games without a win, losing two.
  • The Biancocelesti have only conceded one goal in their last eight Serie A matches, an Adrien Rabiot strike in a 2-1 win over Juventus.

Can Biancocelesti pull away?

Having extended their unbeaten streak to eight league games with last week’s 3-0 thrashing of Spezia, Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio have the chance to tighten their grasp on second place when they host Torino on Saturday, with their top-four rivals Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan all dealing with the aftermath of midweek European exploits. Il Toro travel to the Stadio Olimpico in less-than-ideal form, and the Biancocelesti are clear favourites to maintain their strong run.

Lazio have won four successive matches, posting seven victories in their last eight league games and – remarkably – only conceding one goal in that run. While Lazio’s expected goals figures suggest some deal of good fortune in defence, with just 20 goals conceded from over 34 xGA this term, goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and defensive duo Alessio Romagnoli and Patric deserve great credit for their performances. Across all competitions, 10 of Lazio’s last 11 wins have come to nil, and with Torino struggling in front of goal, Sarri will be confident of overseeing another shutout on Saturday.

Indeed, Torino have taken just two points from their last four games, having squandered an early lead in last week’s dispiriting stalemate against Salernitana. Il Toro have also failed to net in two of their last four games, while only six Serie A teams have scored fewer than their 31 goals in 30 league outings this campaign. Against top-seven opponents, meanwhile, Ivan Juric’s side have lost each of their last four games, and more disappointment looks likely when they head to the capital.

Eagles soaring high

With Lazio in exceptional form and – unlike their top-four rivals – bereft of any European distractions, backing the hosts for another victory looks the obvious play ahead of Saturday’s Serie A action.

Meanwhile, a routine 2-0 home win looks a solid correct score prediction and Mattia Zaccagni – who has two goals in his last two appearances at the Olimpico – represents a strong anytime scorer play, particularly with Ciro Immobile sidelined after he was injured in a car accident earlier this week.
