Lecce can keep fine home streak going

Lecce have endured defeats to a couple of Serie A’s big guns recently but a home tie with Sassuolo presents them with a great chance of getting back to winning ways.

With each team having played seven games in Italy’s top flight this term, Lecce are among the early surprising packages, having claimed 11 points.

In their last two games they were edged 1-0 by Juventus and thrashed 4-0 by Napoli, suggesting they have work to do to push for the European places.

But against the division’s lesser lights, they have looked good, having recorded league wins over Lazio, Salernitana and Genoa this season.

All three of those victories came at home and they can again make their mark at the Stadio Via del Mare against Sassuolo.

Inconsistent Sassuolo should be opposed

The visitors hit some form recently with wins over Juventus and Inter but defeats to Frosinone and Monza either side of those results show they are too inconsistent to warrant backing on their travels.
