• Chelsea haven’t won away from home since October in any competition.
• Leicester overcame Tottenham 4-1 at home in February.

Chelsea face tricky Leicester test

Chelsea put their domestic woes to one side in midweek as they overcame Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to reach the Champions League quarter-finals and they will be looking to follow that up with three points at out-of-sorts Leicester.

The Foxes have lost their last four games across all competitions, but they have managed to put in some decent performances against the bigger teams this season despite their struggles.

Chelsea offer little appeal as favourites

Chelsea go into the game after back-to-back wins and are rated as the odds-on favourites to win at the King Power Stadium. However, the Blues haven’t managed a win on the road since a Champions League win at Salzburg at the end October, and they have picked up just three away Premier League victories in 13 attempts.

The Stamford Bridge side have lost seven of their 10 away games since that victory in Austria and they’ve scored just four goals during that run, so at a big price Leicester look like backable underdogs.

Leicester go into the clash on the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss at Southampton but they were perhaps unlucky not to at least get a point at St Mary’s. They have also lost to Manchester United and Arsenal during their current four-game slump – and the visit of this travel sick Chelsea side who were pushed hard by BVB in midweek offers a real chance to claim a morale boosting win.

Leicester can spring a shock

Leicester are just two points clear of the drop zone after a three-game losing run in the league but their recent home results have been mildly encouraging.

The Foxes managed a 2-2 draw with an in-form Brighton side a few weeks ago and followed that up by thrashing Tottenham 4-1, before falling short against title chasers Arsenal 1-0. Brendan Rodgers’ men performed well at Manchester United recently until conceding the first goal, slipping to a 3-0 defeat, and if they do take the game to Chelsea they could well claim a much-needed three points.

Goals could be in short supply, however, as Leicester score on average just 1.25 goals-per-game at home and Chelsea have failed to score in three of their last four trips across all competitions. As such, a 1-0 win for the hosts has some appeal as a correct score bet.
