Leicester vs West Brom Predictions

Leicester City made history yet again on Wednesday night when they became the first team to keep a clean sheet in all four of their first Champions League games. Their goalless draw at Copenhagen kept them top of their Champions League group and all but secured qualification, and their Premier League form is starting to follow suit.

They managed a 1-1 draw at Spurs last weekend to follow on from an impressive 3-1 win at home against Crystal Palace. This takes their unbeaten streak to four games in all competitions, although at home that record extends much further back.

Leicester haven’t lost a Premier League game at home since a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal last September, and in all competitions they haven’t lost in normal time at home since a January defeat to Spurs in the FA Cup.

It’s hard to argue that their performances so far this season are far removed from the ones that took them to an historic Premier League title last year. Their top scorer is Islam Slimani with two Premier League goals, although Riyad Mahrez has scored three in the Champions League but just one in the league. At home in the league, only Slimani has scored more than one goal, so he’s the best bet for an anytime goalscorer at 8/5 with bet365.

West Brom fell to a dismal 4-0 loss to the out of form Manchester City last weekend, following on from a 2-1 loss to Liverpool and three consecutive draws in the Premier League. They have only won one of their last ten in all competitions, putting them down in 16th position in the table.

They undoubtedly have more attacking threat than they are used to with Nacer Chadli and Salomon Rondon in form, but they’re facing a Leicester side who have kept four clean sheets in their last six home games. I wouldn’t bank on them getting too many opportunities going forward.

I’m fully expecting Leicester to get the three points here. So far they haven’t been troubled by fixture congestion, with their three Champions League group games being followed by two wins and a draw in the league. Odds of 8/11 for a Leicester Win on Sunday look good value too, so I’m backing that along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 7/1.
