Levante vs Villarreal Predictions

Levante running out of time

Levante have nine games left to save their La Liga status, and winning their derby against rivals Villarreal would be a great place to start after the international break.

There have been shoots of a recovery lately, including home wins over Elche and Mallorca since the turn of the year, as well as a 1-1 draw with Espanyol in their last match at Estadi Ciutat de València.

Alessio Lisci’s side have only lost four of their last 11 on home soil, and another decent result against a team who struggle on the road might not be out of the question.

Villarreal must improve their away record

The Yellow Submarine have still only won three away league games this season and they head into this fixture having lost their last two on the road 1-0, against Osasuna and Cadiz.

It is a surprise for Unai Emery’s side, who dumped Juventus out of the Champions League thanks to a 3-0 win in Italy, but domestically things just have not clicked for them and they sit in seventh place in the table.

They have also drawn five times on their travels, so they have some resilience, but given what Levante are fighting for, this could be a tough game.

I think the hosts could give Villarreal a run for their money here, so I select Levante double chance, while picking a 2-1 home win as a correct score prediction.
