Lille vs St Etienne Predictions

• Lille have lost only three of their 36 Ligue 1 fixtures this season
• Four of Lille’s last five wins have been to nil

Lille can move within touching distance of Ligue 1 title

After Paris-Saint Germain were held to a 1-1 draw by Rennes last week, Lille now require only four points from their final two matches to guarantee the Ligue 1 title and they can take three against St-Etienne on Sunday.

Christophe Galtier’s men have thrived under the pressure of the title race, having won five of their previous six matches, beating PSG, Lyon and a solid Lens side as part of that run.

St-Etienne, meanwhile, have 15 defeats to their name in Ligue 1 this campaign and could be out of their depth in this one.

Jonathan David and Burak Yilmaz have been superb in the attacking third for Lille but the club have also been tight at the back recently, recording shutouts in four of their last six fixtures and that could point to a low-scoring affair. 

Punters are advised to back a Lille win and under 3.5 goals and we predict a 2-0 win as they close in on the title.
