Lincoln City vs Crawley Town Predictions

It has been an excellent few years to be a Lincoln City fan as they have reclaimed their spot in the Football League, enjoyed an excellent run in the FA Cup and won the Checkatrade Trophy. Now the Imps have got their eyes on winning the League Two title and with it promotion to England’s third tier. Although they have started the season well, this weekend they face the difficult prospect of a Crawley Town side who are looking to impress any new boss who may be watching.

The hosts have been near perfect in the start to the campaign as they have five wins and a draw from their opening six matches. It is not as if they have played against easy opposition either, as title rivals Exeter City and Notts County have been among the sides they have overcome. In fact, it is only local rivals Grimsby Town who have managed to claim a point off the Imps thus far, showing that early season predictions of a title run are proving to be well founded.

Visiting Sincil Bank is a Crawley Town side who have been solid, if a little unspectacular in their start to the League Two season. With seven points to their name so far, it is fair to say that things could have gone a little better for the Red Devils. Town’s task this weekend is not made any easier by the fact that Notts County have appointed their former boss Harry Kewell as their new manager, meaning Crawley will have to play this game with a temporary manager.

Given the start the hosts have made to the season, it is hard to see anything other than a home win in this fixture and it is here where we shall be placing our money. Our confidence in this tip is only increased when we consider that the visitors have been distinctly average so far and have no manager to lead a tactical masterclass.

For those of you looking for something which offers a bit more of a return, we think that backing both teams to score and combining it with our initial tip of a home win is an excellent way to achieve this. The hosts are yet to fail to score in the league this season and the visitors have seen both teams score in each of their last four outings.
