Lincoln City vs Swindon Predictions

Hopes are high in Lincoln at the moment following the success of recent years under the leadership of the Cowley Brothers and, after a summer of good recruitment, most people expect them to be right in amongst the mix for the title come the end of the season. The Imps managed an opening day victory on the road against recently relegated Northampton Town and they will be looking to make it two wins from two when they welcome Swindon Town to Sincil Bank.

Danny Cowley may have already had a very good summer in the transfer market but he was working until the very last opportunity and on deadline he made two signings which are sure to make his side stronger. In comes former Premier League defender Jason Shackell on a one year deal in a move which will bolster a defence which is already rated as one of the strongest in the league. He is joined at Sincil Bank by Spanish forward Joan Luque who will be looking to make the jump from non-league football. Although Cowley will be pleased with his work in the market, the timing of the moves following the departure of Luke Waterfall earlier in the week allows him to re-capture some of the momentum lost when his former captain joined Shrewsbury Town.

It was a more frustrating weekend on the opening day for Swindon Town as they overcame newly promoted Macclesfield Town. Swindon may have secured the three points but they were behind as the match entered into injury time. Although two penalties spared their blushes and helped them win on the opening day, their deficiencies were highlighted in that match and they have a lot of work to do if they are to achieve their goals this season.

Last season Sincil Bank became a very hard place for sides in League Two to come and take the points away from and we think that is exactly what is due to happen this season. The Imps have already shown their strength at the back and they rarely fail to find the back of the net. Given that the visitors have conceded plenty in recent weeks, we think that backing a home win is the best way to go in this clash.
