Lincoln City vs Yeovil Town Predictions

It has been a remarkable few years for fans of Lincoln City as they have seen a dramatic turnaround in their fortunes and could be playing as high as the third tier of English football when the new season kicks off in a few months time. This Friday they have the opportunity to take a step closer to that aim as they welcome relegation threatened Yeovil Town to Sincil Bank.

Lincoln City returned to winning ways at Forest Green Rovers last weekend, and with Bury failing to win in midweek, they have been left them two points clear at the top of League Two. It has been a frustrating few weeks for the Imps as, although they remain undefeated, they have drawn in five of their last seven outings and their once commanding lead over the chasing pack is now looking considerably slimmer.

If the Imps are to emerge victorious in this contest then one man who is likely to play a pivotal role is attacking midfielder Bruno Andrade. The 25-years-old may only have eight goals to his name this season but he comes into this match having scored six times in his last six outings and he looks like an excellent bet to find the back of the net against Yeovil on Friday evening.

Yeovil have managed to record back-to-back league victories which has seen them move six points clear of the League Two relegation zone. It is a return to form which will have come as a welcome relief to the visitors as prior to those victories they had lost six straight matches and, with the bottom two closing the gap all the time, their spot in the Football League was getting slimmer all the time.

Lincoln come into this match as the undoubted favourites, but they have stuggled to get over the line in recent weeks. Although they have been excellent in front of goal, they have been sloppy at the back and the fact that 82% of their home matches have finished with both teams scoring shows that they tend to out slug their opponents when on home soil. When you also consider the improved confidence of the visitors following their back to back wins, then we think that backing both teams to score represents the best chance of a decent return.
