Maidenhead United vs Maidstone United Predictions

The new season may have just started, but the National League is already five games in and with the league table already beginning to take shape, the side currently propping up the division is Maidenhead United. It may have been a difficult start for the Magpies, but they have the opportunity to kick start their season when they welcome Maidstone United to York Road this Saturday.

The hosts started their campaign with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of a Gateshead side who have had a big turnover in players, and their start did not get any better as they followed that up with a 1-0 defeat away to Solihull Moors. Although the Magpies were able to briefly stop the rot with a 2-2 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge, they were soon back to losing ways as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Wrexham and a 2-1 defeat to Hartlepool United.

Maidstone, on the other hand, will be much happier with their start to the season – although they know there is still plenty of areas they can improve on. A 1-1 draw with Hartlepool on the opening day was improved upon second time out as they claimed a 2-1 victory over Dagenham and Redbridge. However, back to back defeats set them back, although they were able to get back on track at the weekend when they saw off Barrow with a 1-0 victory.

The form of the home side is hard to ignore when evaluating what might happen and although there is nothing to split the side in the head to head, there is a clear favourite when they meet this weekend. The visitors are simply in better form and look, on paper at least, to have the stronger side. Therefore, we think backing an away win is the best option in this fixture.
