Manchester United vs Inter Milan Predictions

Manchester United’s pre-season efforts have been pleasing so far; they kicked things off with a relatively uncomplicated win against Perth Glory, while they strode to victory against Leeds last time out, scoring four goals in the process. Can Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men do the business against higher-level opposition when they take on Inter on Saturday afternoon?

Against Perth, United didn’t really do too much that impressed, though it was their first pre-season game, while they still won without much of a fuss. Last time out, the Red Devils stepped it up a notch, as they found their attacking stride against Championship opposition. New signing Daniel James, whose pace and direct running is somewhat frightening, stood out, while there was plenty to like about the way youngster Mason Greenwood went about his business on the opposite flank.

Inter have also made a positive start to pre-season, though they’ve only played once. While United were flexing their muscles against Leeds, Inter got the better of Swiss outfit Lugano, winning by two goals to one. It wasn’t particularly glamorous, though Antonio Conte’s men had plenty of pleasing spells, spells where their overall quality was there for all to see. Marcelo Brozovic, who bagged himself a goal and an assist, looked in particularly good condition, while new signing Valentino Lazaro showed moments of promise when coming on in the second half.

From a betting point of view, this is anything but a fixture to get overly involved in, though one selection that does make minor appeal is ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’. United showed a good mix of creativity and end-product last time out, while much the same can be said for Inter, who looked a real threat offensively in their only pre-season friendly to date.

What’s more, United have a habit of both scoring and conceding in this competition, as since 2017, they’ve scored in five out of six. They’ve also conceded in five of those six. Likewise, Inter have developed a habit of conceding goals in friendlies in recent times, shipping in each of their last four, conceding a total of eight. Both teams have scored in each of their last three.

At the end of the day, this is a friendly and should be treated as such, though for those looking to invest a few pennies, opting for a high-scoring game appears to be the best option.
