MK Dons vs Forest Green Rovers Predictions

Regardless of whether a side is looking to win promotion or if they are battling against the drop, a solid start to the season is a key factor in any side’s planning for success. This weekend sees two sides face off who are yet to taste defeat in League Two so far this season as MK Dons welcome Forest Green Rovers to the Stadium mk.

The hosts suffered relegation from League One at the end of last season, a blow which has seen them playing at a lower level than fierce rivals AFC Wimbledon for the first time in their history, and they will be looking to right that wrong as soon as possible. Their bid to reclaim their spot in England’s third tier has started off pretty well as their strong defence has ensured they are yet to suffer defeat in the league this season. However, the side have only managed to score more than once in a game on the opening day of the season, a troubling stat which will have to be improved if they are to win promotion come the end of the campaign.

Making the trip to Stadium mk is a Forest Green Rovers side who have had a remarkably similar run to their hosts so far this season. Rovers are also undefeated in the league and although they have scored more than one goal in a game twice this season, their success is still largely down to their strength at the back.

Given that both of these sides adopt a pretty cautious approach to the game, we think that the likelihood of a high scoring contest looks to be pretty remote. Although the sides have only met once previously, the fact that game was still 0-0 after 90 minutes only adds to our confidence of a low scoring affair and with this in mind, we think that backing there to be less than 2.5 goals scored is the way to go in this fixture.

We are not done there though, as both of these sides inability to put their opposition to bed has cost them on multiple occasions this term. As the hosts have drawn half of their matches in the league and the visitors have drawn five of their seven outings in League Two, we think backing a stalemate is an excellent option for those of you looking for something which is perhaps a little more risky.
