Montreal Impact vs FC Cincinnati Predictions

Montreal Impact lost 3-0 at home last time out to DC United and will be demanding a response from their players on Sunday. Cincinnati were thrashed 5-1 in their own backyard before the international break by Toronto and will be dreading facing another Canadian side this weekend.

All of the stats suggest that a win is on the cards for Montreal impact this weekend but we should expect Cincinnati to get on the scoresheet in the process.

We’re expecting goals at both ends of the pitch in this game because both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were produced the last time these two sides met back in May and both teams scored in four of Montreal Impact’s and all of Cincinnati’s last six matches in all competitions.

Neither team has looked strong defensively of late but both teams have been finding the back of the net on a regular basis, with Montreal Impact only keeping one clean sheet in their last six attempts and only failing to score in one of their last six games, while Cincinnati haven’t kept any clean sheets in their last six attempts but have managed to score in each of their last six matches.

The form of both teams over the last month points towards a win for the home side this weekend, as Montreal Impact have won two of their last five matches and drawn one and Cincinnati have lost four of their last five matches and drawn one. Montreal Impact might not be in the best of form right now but their guests have conceded at least three goals in each of their last four matches and have scored one goal in each of those games as well, which is why we’re backing a 3-1 win for Montreal Impact on Sunday.

We’re confident that Montreal Impact will win and both teams will score on Sunday and have predicted a final scoreline of 3-1. Montreal Impact sit just outside the playoff places in the Eastern Conference table and have outperformed Cincinnati this season. The visitors have struggled to adapt to life in the MLS and have amassed a goal difference of -43 which is 29 goals worse off than Montreal Impact’s goal difference of -14 and speaks volumes.
