Montreal Impact vs FC Dallas Predictions

Montreal impact were defeated in their last MLS game against Chicago Fire but beat Cavalry in the Canadian Championship in midweek and will be hoping to build on that result this weekend. Dallas also suffered defeat in their last game away at LA Galaxy, making it two defeats on the run away from home.

While Montreal Impact head into Sunday’s match as the form favourites over the last six matches, if you take away the hosts Canadian Championship wins, then their form reads completely differently. Montreal Impact have lost five of their last six MLS games which includes defeats at home to Toronto and Minnesota United last month. Dallas have won two, drawn one, and lost three of their last six league games, making the visitors the form favourites, based solely on the last six MLS games.

Dallas boast an excellent head to head record against Montreal Impact despite the clubs only meeting on seven previous occasions. Dallas have only lost once against Montreal Impact before and have won five of the pair’s seven meetings, including each of the last three meetings which ended 2-0, 2-1, and 2-0.

We’re expecting a close game but do see Dallas picking up at least a point and possibly all three on Sunday, and there is a good chance both teams will score. Both teams have scored in three of Montreal Impact’s last four matches and two of those games ended in defeat for the Canadians, while Dallas have only kept two clean sheets in their last six attempts and failed to win either of their last two away games. Dallas’ recent away defeats provide the main reason as to why we’re backing a double chance bet on the visitors rather than an out to out win because the head to head record leans heavily in the visitors’ favour.

We’re confident that a double chance bet on Dallas will payout this weekend and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. Dallas could claim all three points but are going to have to put in much better performances than they did in their last two games on the road. The visitors have a strong head to head record against their hosts and have only lost once to Montreal impact and that was back in 2015.
