      NAC Breda vs Feyenoord Predictions

It’s not been a successful campaign for Breda, who’re currently bottom of the pile. From start to finish, Wednesday’s hosts have lacked the quality to get seriously competitive, which is why they’ve accumulated a measly 22 points. This home match against a very useful Feyenoord side isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered, given Breda’s current predicament.

As touched on above, Breda have failed to make the grade in the Eredivisie this season, though some of their recent home efforts haven’t been too bad. Last time out at this venue, they drew 1-1 with Emmen, clocking a pleasing 2.17 expected goals for in the process. Prior to that, they held VVV to a 1-1 draw at home. In both of those matches, Wednesday’s hosts have created more than they’ve conceded, so perhaps there is hope for them ahead of this match.

However, from a defensive point of view, no matter how they try and approach games, Breda have failed to keep clean sheets for the entirety of the campaign. Ruud Brood’s men have conceded at least once in all but two of their 15 home matches, while they’ve shipped an average of 1.73 goals at home.

Given their position in the league, Feyenoord are of course expected to go to Rat Verlegh Stadion and record a relatively easy win, though their efforts on the road, especially of late, suggest that their success may not be as straightforward as the current Win/Draw/Win odds suggest.

Feyenoord haven’t been overly poor on their travels this season, but they’ve not exactly stopped teams from either creating or scoring. The visitors have conceded at least once in all but two of their last ten travelling matches. In fact, they’ve kept just two clean sheets away from home all season. Moreover, they’ve shipped an average of 1.6 goals and an average of 1.43 expected goals. Such numbers certainly won’t strike fear into the hearts of Wednesday’s hosts.

In terms of quality, Feyenoord are the better side, there can be no denying that, though backing the visitors to emerge victorious from this encounter represents little value at the prices. Instead, given the numbers mentioned above, ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’ makes plenty of appeal.

As both teams tend to give a reasonable amount away in their respective home and away games, the pair are backed to get on the score-sheet in what ought to be a relatively high-scoring encounter.
