      NAC Breda vs PSV Predictions

      • Breda are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions.
      • PSV have lost three and drawn one of their last six matches (including friendlies).
      • Both teams scored in three of the last six meetings between these two clubs.
      • Both teams have scored in three of Breda’s and all of PSV’s last six matches.

Breda are the form side heading into Thursday’s clash

Breda picked up three more points in their push for promotion last time out as they beat AZ Jong 3-1 at home, while PSV could only manage a 1-1 draw at struggling VVV in their first game back following the winter break. Neither of these sides are likely to make the KNVB Beker a priority this season but a good cup run can arguably help a team’s form and, with Breda chasing promotion back into the Eredivisie, a win could prove a catalyst for the home side.

Three of the last six encounters between these two clubs have seen both teams score, while three of Breda’s and all of PSV’s last six matches have also produced goals at both ends of the pitch. Breda are unbeaten in their last four matches and look confident at home, while PSV have had some trouble on the road, which is why they sit so many points behind Ajax with almost half the campaign still to play.

Breda have picked up seven wins and two draws from their 12 home games this season, while PSV have lost three and drawn four of their 10 away games in the Eredivisie. The hosts have only lost 25% of their home games this season and score an average of 1.75 goals per home game, conceding an average of 0.83 goals. PSV didn’t play their strongest 11 in the last round and needed extra-time to beat third-division GVVV 2-1; but they can expect a much tougher 90 minutes against former Eredivisie side Breda on Thursday.

PSV haven’t looked too sharp on the road this season

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in 58% of Breda’s home games, as well as in 60% of PSV’s away games, while 58% of the hosts’ home matches have seen both teams score and the same can be said about 70% of PSV’s away games. Breda have scored in 92% of their home games this season and have only conceded 10 goals in their own backyard, while PSV have netted in 90% of their away games.

Five of Breda’s wins this season have been obtained by a one-goal margin and if the hosts do go on to win on Thursday against top-flight opposition, you would only expect there to be one goal separating the two clubs. However, we have backed Thursday’s clash to end 1-1 as Breda don’t always make the most of their chances at home and might not get too many if PSV play a stronger starting 11 than they did in the previous round.

We’re confident a double chance bet on Breda is the best way to go this Thursday and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. The hosts are in good form and go up against a PSV side that just haven’t looked their usual title-challenging best so far this season. Even though a division separates the two clubs, the hosts will be confident they can upset the odds on Thursday night.
