      Nantes vs Amiens Predictions

Amiens are on a pretty good run of seven games unbeaten but with five of these being draws, there is still much to be worked on. Christophe Pélissier’s men have done very well to keep it tight at the back with four clean sheets in this time, three of which came against teams much higher than them in the league, but their offensive efforts haven’t evened out with them failing to score in three of their last four games. They travelled to 18th placed Dijon last week and really should have picked up some points against the Mustards. In truth Dijon dominated the match and Amiens were lucky to draw.

Pélissier will hope for a better result this time round but his side are without an away win since December. They have scored in just one of their last five on the road so Nantes should fancy themselves for this game but it will be interesting to see if the Canaries can get past Amiens’ solid defence.

Life at Nantes is pretty peachy at the moment with them casually breezing past two of France’s top teams in the last fortnight. Lyon were the first to feel their wrath as Anthony Limbombe’s late free-kick saw them earn their first three points since February. It was a very spirited performance from the Canaries and they carried that into their miraculous win over PSG as the Stade de la Beaujoire carried them to a 3-1 victory. Another tremendous performance earned them the spoils again but can they keep that going against much weaker opponents in Amiens?

Nantes have a solid record over Amiens with them beating the Unicorns twice and losing once over the last two years. The last meeting ended 2-1 to Nantes and their home form should help them a lot in this coming fixture. Nantes may sit 14th in Ligue 1 but they have won nine and lost just three of their last 14 home games. Amiens are notoriously bad on the road and this could have a major effect on the match.

Amiens may be on a good unbeaten streak but Nantes are high on life following their wins over Lyon and PSG. The Canaries have scored 32 goals in their last 14 games and with Amiens not winning on the toad since December we’re backing the home side to win here. Amiens have also scored just one goal in their last five away so we’re backing a 2-0 win for Nantes.
