Tottenham Hotspur and Both Teams To Score
Reasoning
Newcastle vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions
- Tottenham won 4-1 when these sides met in the reverse fixture
- Spurs have won four of their last six (D1, L1).
- Newcastle have scored in 12 successive home games in a run stretching back to October.
Spurs can win early thriller
Tottenham lost 6-1 when they visited St James’ Park in the Premier League last season but they can take some revenge when they head to Newcastle for the early kick off on Saturday.
The Magpies have shown a bit of fight in their bid to qualify for European competition in recent weeks but they remain under strength due to a lengthy injury list.
Spurs moved into fourth spot after the last round of fixtures as they chase a place in next season’s Champions League, and they can make sure they remain in the top four with a victory on Saturday.
Newcastle can strike in defeat
Backing the visitors to win and both teams to score looks a good option here as these two sides usually serve up entertaining games, with both teams scoring in each of the last eight meetings.
Tottenham have won four of those, with two draws and two losses, and they are the form team here with four wins in their last six games. Newcastle did pick up a win at Fulham last time out but they were perhaps a little fortunate, and that was just their third win in normal time in nine games across all competitions.
Eddie Howe’s men haven’t failed to score in a home game since October, a run stretching 12 games, and Spurs have conceded in five of their last six trips – shipping 12 goals in total – so goals at both ends does look likely.
Son can star
A 3-1 win for Tottenham is the correct score prediction as they have scored at least three goals in three of their last four wins, while Newcastle have conceded exactly three in two of their last four league assignments.
Son Heung-min has five goals in his last eight games for club and country and he looks the best bet for an anytime effort. The South Korean tends to enjoy playing against Newcastle and has three goals in his last five games against the Magpies, so back him to add to his 15 Premier League goals for the season on Saturday.
