The race for an automatic promotion place is heating up in League Two and Newport County finds themselves firmly in the mix. The ‘Exiles’ currently occupying third place in the table, and the last automatic promotion place, but are only ahead of fourth-placed Tranmere on goal difference and a win here against midtable Hartlepool United would propel them into the top two. They’ll feel extremely confident of doing so given that they have won their last three matches, are unbeaten across their last seven and haven’t lost any of their most recent four meetings with Hartlepool.

The visitors look set to end the campaign in a midtable position. Whilst not impossible, it seems exceptionally unlikely that Graeme Lee’s will challenge for the playoffs as they sit 12 points off of the top seven.
