Norrby IF vs IK Brage Predictions

The Swedish Superettan is now a third of the way through the season and while things are quite congested, the outlook is starting to take shape. Norrby are currently 13th, which would see them enter the relegation play-offs at the end of the campaign, while Brage are currently on the fringe of the promotion picture.

That certainly represents a fine achievement from their point of view. They were a third tier side last term but put a fine season together, only losing 3 times to clinch the Northern section title and win promotion. Back-to-back promotions would be extremely impressive but it’s not unheard of in Sweden for teams to regularly make rapid rises to the top flight.

As for Norrby they only finished a point above the relegation play-off positions last term so it’s no surprise to see them struggling again. Worryingly, they’ve even found finding the net a pretty tough challenge this season with an average of just 0.8 goals per game, something which wasn’t really an issue last time around.

Overall this is quite a tough game to call. The visitors have certainly been the more impressive side but they’ve been accumulating points rather than setting the world on fire. A huge 60% of their league games so far this term have been drawn. No other side in this division has drawn more than 30% so they really are the division’s draw specialists and 4 of their 5 away games have finished level.

As a newly promoted team, they won’t be getting too carried away yet though with establishing themselves in this league the main priority this term. They will certainly view a point as one gained again here and there’s little about Norrby that suggests they will have enough to bag the win. They’ve gone 7 matches without collecting maximum points and will be more than grateful just to stop the rot you sense.

They average just 0.6 points per home game this season in the Swedish second tier and clearly that’s a record that will need to improve if they are to stay up. The visitors perhaps lack the killer instinct to make them pay though so it would be no surprise to see this end in stalemate.

Therefore, backing the Draw looks like the smart bet in the Full-Time Result market here.
