Norwich vs Manchester City Predictions

  • Manchester City have won 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions.
  • Six of those wins have been by two or more goals.
  • Five of Norwich’s last six defeats have been by at least two goals.
  • Jack Grealish scored in the reverse fixture.

Man City bid to extend unbeaten streak at Norwich

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 14 games in the Premier League and it seems highly unlikely that run will come to an end at Norwich in the late kick off on Saturday.

City do have a Champions League last 16 trip to Sporting Lisbon to come next week and as such boss Pep Guardiola may rotate for this game at Carrow Road, but even a weakened line-up should still be strong enough to beat the Canaries fairly comfortably.

Norwich are enjoying a good patch themselves with three wins and a draw in their last four games. However, they were largely outplayed in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at home in midweek and a similar performance against City would almost certainly see them beaten.

Visitors can win with room to spare

City won the reverse fixture 5-0 earlier in the season and I’m expecting another comfortable win for the runaway Premier League leaders on Saturday, although perhaps not such an emphatic victory.

The Manchester outfit have won 10 of their last 11 games and six of those wins have come by two or more goals, while five of Norwich’s last six losses have been by at least two-goal margins.

As such, an away win with a -1 handicap stands out for the main bet here. And a reasonably comfortable 3-0 win for City is the correct score selection.

As Guardiola may be tempted to rest some of his stars, or at least use them sparingly, the visitors may not be quite the formidable attacking unit they usually are and Norwich have only conceded more than three goals once since Dean Smith took charge, in a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Chance for Grealish to add to his tally

Jack Grealish could be in line for a start in attack after coming off the bench in the midweek win over Brentford.

The former Aston Villa man has only managed two Premier League goals this season but did score in the reverse fixture and he has managed two or more shots in five of his last seven league appearances, hitting 15 in total during that time. If Grealish is involved from the off he will be keen to make the most of the opportunity and a goal for the England international appeals in this fixture.
