Norwich vs Newcastle Predictions

  • Norwich have conceded a 66 goals, an average of 2.1 per-game.
  • Newcastle have conceded in 14 of their 16 away games in the Premier League.
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in five of Norwich’s last seven games.
  • The Magpies have won their last three games.

Last chance saloon for Norwich

Norwich entertain Newcastle on Saturday knowing only a win will do if they are to keep their slim hopes of survival alive.

The Canaries are eight points adrift of safety with just six games remaining and they come up against a Magpies outfit who are on a three-game winning streak.

A win for the visitors does have some appeal here, but Norwich did come close to getting a result at Manchester United last time out so I’m going to stick with the goals markets for my main bet in this fixture and both teams to score looks a good option.

Both teams capable of scoring

Both teams to score has been a winning bet in five of Norwich’s last seven games and they have only drawn a blank in one of those matches. The Canaries have only failed to score in one of their last six at home, despite losing three of those games, and that was against a Manchester City side who boast the best defence in the division so the hosts should be good for a goal if nothing else on Saturday.

Newcastle have scored in each of their last four games and both teams have scored in two of those. The St James’ Park club have only failed to score in two of their last eight away, while they have managed just two clean sheets in 16 away games in the Premier League this season.

In-form visitors can come away with the spoils

Newcastle are set to finish comfortably in mid-table and have hit some form heading into the closing stages of the season. Eddie Howe’s men have won each of their last three games, all of those were at home but they may be able to carry that form over and secure a rare away success.

Norwich have to go for this one and that should hand Newcastle plenty of opportunities on the counter, and I’m backing them to come away with a 2-1 victory.

Finally, an anytime effort from Bruno Guimaraes appeals as the Brazilian has looked sharp of late. The 24-year-old scored twice in Newcastle’s win over Leicester then provided an assist in the victory over Crystal Palace last time out and can add to his account at Norwich.
