Can Osasuna rack up another win?

You have to go back to the 2002/03 campaign for the last time Osasuna reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, and they will go into the first leg of this last four tie full of confidence after beating Sevilla 3-2 on Sunday.

That was a first win in five for Jagoba Arrasate’s side, who have particularly struggled for clean sheets, managing just one of them in their last eight games.

Five of those matches have seen both teams score, and history may be repeated in this clash, although expect both managers to try and keep things tight ahead of the return leg in April.

Bilbao must bounce back

While Osasuna picked up that surprise win at the weekend, Athletic Bilbao suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to Girona, the fourth time in their last six games that both teams have netted.

Ernesto Valverde’s side haven’t kept a clean sheet over that period, and nor have they managed one in their last half a dozen away fixtures, when once more both teams have scored on four occasions.

The Lions, who are in the semi-finals for the fourth year running, have also seen both teams net in four of their last six Copa del Rey semi-final legs.

I predict that both teams will net in this game, but I find it hard to separate them, with a 1-1 draw my correct score prediction.
