Osters IF vs Norrby IF Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

This game see two sides that are currently right next to each other in the Swedish second tier standings meet. Just one point separates the sides who are currently hovering just above the relegation play-off positions. Certainly it looks like it is going to be a season of struggle for the duo as they bid to avoid the drop to the third tier.

Oster come into this game following three straight defeats. A 3-2 loss at 2nd bottom Frej last time out was a particularly severe blow in a game that offered them the chance to put some real distance between themselves and the automatic relegation positions. They even took the lead in that match but suffered a major Second Half collapse so they’d have had plenty to work on this week as they prepare for this one.

Norrby’s last two performances couldn’t be any more contrasting. They were hammered 4-0 by AFC Eskilstuna in their most recent away game but bounced back very well to beat Brage 2-0 at home last weekend. That was one of their best showings of the campaign but they have performed pretty well at times and besides the AFC game, they’ve been pretty tough to break down.

They’ve an outstanding 60% away clean sheet ratio, which is some going for a struggling side. They’ve avoided defeat in 80% of their away games this term so already you have to say Oster look very short at around 4/7 for the win here. Norrby have conceded five fewer goals than anyone else in the bottom six overall and certainly defensively they look the superior side.

Oster’s status as such clear favourites here is even harder to believe when you note they have the Superettan’s worst home record. They are yet to win in front of their own fans this term and average just 0.4 points per game on their own patch. They’ve not had impossible fixtures either, with only one of their home games so far against current top five opposition.

Even bottom club Varnamo escaped with a 0-0 draw when they visited the Myresjöhus Arena last month and results like that have to give confidence to the visitors here. Overall backing Norrby Double Chance certainly seems like the way to go, with generous odds available when you take into account the teams’ respective home and away records.
