      Ostersunds Fk vs AIK Predictions

Östersunds have lost their last two in the league, most recently against Norrköping 4-2, while their opponents on Thursday top the Allsvenskan but have gone three league games without a win following a trio of draws against Örebro, Djurgården, and Malmö. Fifteen points separate the two clubs ahead of their top six clash, but both teams recent form suggests this game could prove tough to predict.

Östersunds took the lead in the twelfth minute through Pettersson away at Norrköping on Saturday, but the hosts recovered well and lead 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Fransson and Holmberg. The second half started at a slower pace to their first and there were no more goals until the seventy-fifth minute, when a penalty from Gerson put the home side 3-1 up.

Östersunds had to score next to remain in the match, but instead Thern made it 4-1 and ended any hopes the visitors had of rescuing a point, even though Aiesh converted a ninetieth minute penalty to make it 4-2. The visitors were let down by some poor finishing in the final third and saw seven of their ten shots go off target.

Ghoddos top scores for Thursday’s hosts with nine Allsvenskan goals this season, but teammates Edwards and Islamovic aren’t far behind on seven goals apiece, and Hopcutt has chipped in with five goals as well. AIK’s Henok Goitom has been in good form this season and leads the way in front of goal for the table toppers with twelve strikes in twenty-five starts.

AIK had to come from behind in dramatic fashion to rescue a point at home against one of Sweden’s most famous club names, Malmo. A forty-fourth minute strike from Anders Christiansen saw the visitors lead at the break 1-0 against AIK, and as the second half dragged on that goal looked to be enough to claim an impressive three points for Malmo.

However, Larsson popped up in the sixth minute of time added on to score a deserved equaliser for the home side, but his joy was short lived as a second yellow card was shown to the hosts hero in the tenth minute of stoppage time and AIK ended the game a man short. Larsson now joins Sundgren and Stefanelli on the suspended list for the visitors this weekend, which is going to make Thursday’s game even tougher to win.

We’re confident that under 2.5 goals will be scored in Thursday’s Allsvenskan game, and have backed the final score to read 1-0 to AIK. AIK have never lost against Ostersunds before, and under 2.5 goals have been produced in three of the five meeting between these two clubs. Under 2.5 goals have also been produced in five of AIK’s last six matches, and that’s why were expecting a low scoring affair on Thursday as well.
