Port Vale vs Bradford Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in five of Port Vale’s last six league games.
  • Bradford have scored and conceded in each of their last six matches in all competitions.
  • Port Vale have scored 2.4 goals per game on average across their last 10 League Two fixtures.

Valiants going strong

Port Vale were relegated from League One during the 2016/17 season but if they keep going the way they have been, it won’t be long to Darrell Clarke has them back in the third tier.

The hosts have taken more points across the last 10 fixtures than any other side in the league with 22 and with three wins from their last four matches, Vale now find themselves in second place.

In fact, with Forest Green not in action this weekend, Vale could potentially be top come Saturday night.

With just one clean sheet in six league games, they will more than likely need multiple goals to take all three points but that shouldn’t be a problem given their impressive run in front of goal.

Vale put five past both Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup and Liverpool U21s in the EFL Trophy this past week having fired four past Colchester in their last league outing and three, in a 3-0 victory, against Colchester in their last home league game.

Bradford still in contention

Despite a drop-off in form, Bradford sit 12th and just two points off the play-off positions. Just one win in five league matches has seen them accumulate half the number of points (11) that Port Vale have across their last 10 games.

However, an encouraging 1-1 draw in their last league outing with Forest Green did show the quality they possess and they got the better of  League One Sunderland on penalties in the EFL Trophy in midweek, albeit in a dead rubber.

Bradford have failed to score in all but one of their last eight league games so should at least make a game of this one and with both teams scoring in each of the visitors’ last four league fixtures we are tipping both teams to score.

Hosts to extend winning run

The Bantams will be out to rectify their away league form in this fixture. They have won just two of their seven games on the road so far but they are facing a Port Vale side who have won seven consecutive home games in all competitions.

Four of those victories have been in League Two and we are expecting another win for the home side with 2-1 holding great appeal in the correct score market given Vale’s recent clean sheet record.
