Bees have lost their sting

Brentford need to be foot perfect from here on in to stand any chance of chasing second placed Watford down in the hunt for automatic promotion, but we’re opposing the Bees at Deepdale this weekend following their poor recent results.

Thomas Franke’s side could only manage a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield last Saturday which brought up their fourth consecutive stalemate.

Norwich’s subsequent 7-0 demolition of the Terriers this week perhaps indicated just how much the Bees have dropped off since their remarkable 21 game unbeaten sequence earlier in the campaign and they now sit nine points behind Watford with just seven matches left to play.

With just one win in six, the visitors can’t be supported with any confidence at Deepdale, where hosts Preston have lost just one of their last five outings (W1, D3).

The Lilywhites have also turned in a couple of fine performances over the Easter period to take four points from their fixtures against leaders Norwich (1-1) and fourth placed Swansea (0-1), so we think a punt on Preston in the double chance market looks worthwhile this Saturday and we’re also forecasting a fifth draw on the spin for Brentford via a 1-1 score-line.
