PSV Reserves vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

Match day 12 signs off with Jong PSV against Den Bosch in Eindhoven on Monday evening, with the visitors seeking to extend their incredible five game winning streak to cement their position in the Play-off places. The Blue White Dragons will have to break recent tradition however, having lost on their last four visits to De Herdgang.

Den Bosch faced Jong’s cross city rivals FC Eindhoven last weekend, and coasted their way to a 3-1 success at Stadion De Vliert thanks to goals from Nicolas Romat, Sven Blummel and Juventus loanee Stefano Beltrame, who bagged his fifth of the campaign.

Wil Boessen’s men have had a tremendous few weeks following a mixed start to the season, collecting a perfect 15 points from five outings on a run that’s included fine away successes at MVV (0-3) and Oss (0-1). With four wins and one defeat from five fixtures on the road this term, it’s no surprise that Den Bosch currently boast the best away record in the league and that’s been a key to their rise into the top five.

Den Bosch face a real challenge to their credentials this week though at De Herdgang, which hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for them since these teams first met in 2013. They’ve lost their last four matches against Jong PSV in Eindhoven, and that’s been heavily factored in by the bookies here who rate The Blue White Dragons as outsiders despite them being six points ahead of the hosts in the table.

Jong sit in 10th at present which isn’t where they want to be after finishing 5th in 2017/18, but Dennis Haar’s side are gradually getting better and moving in the right direction following a poor start to the campaign.

Jong won just one of their first five games leaving them in a precarious position, but a solid October has lifted them into the top half. Haar’s charges recorded back to back wins against Roda JC (2-3) and Jong Ajax (2-1) at the start of the month, before 2-2 draws with MVV and Dordrecht in the past fortnight.

The latter two results have obviously been a little underwhelming for Jong, and they’ll need to step things up again this Monday if they’re to halt Den Bosch’s progress. But with their unbeaten record at De Herdgang this season in tact after three wins and two draws, they’ll be confident of doing just that.

This is a really fascinating encounter to round-off match day 12, and there’s plenty in each team’s favour which makes it extremely difficult to confidently predict a winner. Jong are as strong at home as Den Bosch are away, and whilst the visitors look the stronger outfit, recent history in this fixture is against them.

Such a tough call leads us to chance a draw here, but with both teams scoring to boost the odds. Jong have scored in all of their games this term, whilst Den Bosch have drawn a blank just once. There could well be a few goals in this, so we’re also going for a 2-2 correct score.
