PSV vs De Graafschap Predictions

PSV lost their grip on the top spot last weekend when they could only manage a draw away at Vitesse and second placed Ajax claimed all three points in Tilburg. Visitors De Graafschap could move out of the relegation zone this weekend, but they have to beat PSV in order for that to happen, which seems unlikely as they have won just one of their last six matches.

PSV fell behind on three separate occasions before rescuing a draw in Arnhem, with a penalty from Lozano seeing the teams go in at the break with the scoreline locked at 1-1. The Eredivisie’s top scorer de Jong scored PSV’s second equaliser with twenty minutes to go, and a second spot kick from Lozano rescued the title challengers a point in stoppage time as the game ended 3-3. De Graafschap fell behind early in the second half at home to AZ Alkmaar, but an own goal in stoppage time from the visitors goalkeeper Bizot saw the hosts pinch a share of the spoils.

The head to head record between these two clubs and their performances in the league over the last month or so all point towards both teams scoring on Sunday and PSV claiming all three points. PSV have won their last five matches against De Graafschap, and both teams have scored in each of the last five encounters between the two clubs. PSV have won four of their last six in the Eredivisie, while De Graafschap have lost three of their last five. Both teams have scored in two of PSV’s last three and four of De Graafschap’s last six matches, and we’re backing both teams to find the back of the net on Sunday as well. PSV have been formidable at home this season, winning all but one of their Eredivisie games at the Philips Stadion, and it’s hard to see the hosts picking up anything but three points this weekend as well.

PSV forward de Jong top scores in the league this season with twenty-five goals, while De Graafschap’s leading scorer El Jebli has eight goals to his name. We’re confident that PSV will win and both teams will score on Sunday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 4-1. PSV have a really good record against De Graafschap and the pairs recent encounters have seen both teams score on a regular basis. De Graafschap have been struggling for wins of late and face a PSV side that are yet to lose at home in the Eredivisie this season.
