RKC vs FC Eindhoven Predictions

A double salvo from Stijn Spierings inspired a terrific 1-4 win for RKC against Go Ahead Eagles on match day 37 and the result sealed a Play-off place for Fred Grim’s side with a game to spare. The Waalwijk outfit will be keen to further boost their momentum on the final day of the regular season ahead of May’s promotion shoot-out, and they should find things pretty straightforward at Mandemakers Stadion this Friday against an FC Eindhoven team who are without a victory in five.

Fred Grim has done a remarkable job to guide RKC into the Play-offs after a dismal 18th place finish last term, and fans will now hold genuine hopes that their side can elevate themselves back into the Dutch top flight following a six year absence.

Whilst Go Ahead Eagles had little to play for last Friday after already securing their Play-off berth, RKC dished out a real hiding in Deventer which will give them a huge amount of confidence going into the weeks ahead.

The Waalwijk outfit can seemingly beat anyone on their day as further typified by their 4-1 home success against champions Twente on April 1, and whoever pitches up at Mandemakers Stadion for the first round of the Play-offs will know that they are in for a really difficult encounter.

FC Eindhoven face that task this week as the regular season draws to a close, and Blauw-witten will be glad to see the back of yet another disappointing campaign.

David Nascimento’s charges threatened in patches to break into the top half of the table and looked in good nick after a fine sequence of four straight wins at the turn of the year, but results have ultimately tapered off and they will finish the campaign either 14th or 15th depending on this result and the outcome of Telstar’s visit to Jong PSV.

Eindhoven are without a win in five (D2, L3) following last week’s woeful 0-1 reverse at home to Jong AZ, and it seems as though Nascimento’s side have now completely given up the ghost with nothing left at stake. They travel to Waalwijk having won just one of their last six outings on the road (W1, D2, L3) and it would be a surprising if that record were to improve here.

It should be a great atmosphere at Mandemakers Stadion as RKC’s fans look forward to the Play-offs, and we envisage the hosts turning on the style as they did when comfortably accounting for Eindhoven 1-3 in December’s reverse fixture. We can’t imagine that the deflated visitors will offer up much resistance on match day 38, so we’re recommending a three point stake on RKC alongside a 4-1 correct score.
