Lots to like about Latics on the road

Wigan can get another positive away result when they take Rotherham in a battle between promotion rivals from last season at New York Stadium.

Leam Richardson’s men have taken 11 points from a possible 15 on the road this term and will arrive in South Yorkshire looking for a fourth away league win on the bounce.

Richardson has the most experienced squad in the league with several veterans over the age of 30 to ensure nobody loses on their head in tense situations.

Millers may lose focus without Warne

And their superb away form isn’t something that has just surfaced this term as Wigan won 14 and drew six of their 23 away games in League One in 2021-22.

They earned a 1-1 draw away to the Millers last season and something similar could be on the cards if the hosts are not quite at their best. Rotherham lost long-time manager Paul Warne to Derby during the international break and may lack a tiny amount of focus as a result while the club search for his replacement.

All in all, it should be a good time to play the Millers, who were on a roll prior to the break.
