Senegal vs South Korea Predictions

Two sides who are finishing up their warm up for Russia meet this week, as Senegal take on South Korea. These two sides have been in mixed form in the build up to the World Cup. These two face tough battles in order to make it through their group, they will each need to improve their form on the eve of the tournament. Can either of these two claim a victory in this friendly and head east with their confidence boosted? Ahead of Monday’s clash, we’ve ran through the form of both teams.

The pair meet in Austria this week, and they’ve both tested themselves ahead of the tournament. Senegal were put through their paces by Croatia on Friday night, losing 2-1 to the experienced side. They’re now without a victory in four matches, after slipping up to Uzbekistan and Bosnia-Herzegovina back in March. They followed that up with a 0-0 draw at Luxembourg before that defeat to the Croatians, so the African side clearly need to up their game.

Senegal are in one of the tightest groups at the tournament, as they clash with Colombia, Japan and Poland. There’s a chance for this talented side to sneak through there, but they will need to play better than they have in the last two weeks. A clash with South Korea does seem like the perfect chance to boost that poor run, as the Tigers can’t exactly boast of any great form of late.

South Korea played an odd friendly with Bolivia last week, and that result left them even lower. They drew 0-0 with the second worst side in South American qualifying, despite not meeting a south American side in the group stage of the World Cup. However, they don’t meet an African side either. Difficult clashes with Germany, Sweden and Mexico seem even tougher, given their odd method of preparing for this summer’s tournament.

The South Koreans have won one of their last five matches, with their only one positive result coming at home. We can’t see them ending that run, yet Senegal aren’t flying either. They’ve drawn four of their last five matches, while South Korea make this visit to Austria with no wins in five away friendlies. We’re backing a draw in this clash, along with a 1-1 correct score.
