Serbia vs Ukraine Predictions

Serbia were given a scare by Luxembourg in midweek but eventually ran out 3-2 winners to keep their faint hopes of automatic qualification alive, while Ukraine beat Estonia 1-0 in a friendly to extend their unbeaten run to ten international matches.

All of the stats heading into Sunday’s Euro 2020 qualifier suggest that a double chance bet on the visitors is the best way to go and we have backed the pair to playout a 1-1 draw.

Ukraine have never lost against Serbia home or away, winning each of the five previous meetings between the two countries. The visitors have already qualified from Group B in top spot so don’t need a result this Sunday, unlike Serbia who simply have to win to stand any chance of overtaking Portugal.

Ukraine are unbeaten in their last ten matches and Serbia have won five of their last six matches, so we’re expecting a close game between the pair. With Ukraine’s record against Serbia so good you might have expected us to back an outright win for the visitors this weekend, but knowing that Serbia need the points and Ukraine simply don’t, means the motivation is more on the side of the hosts.

Both teams scored in five of Serbia’s last six matches and the hosts have scored in all of their last six matches, while Ukraine have scored in all of their eight games, which is why we have decided to back a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Ukraine have only lost one of their last twelve away games though and Serbia have dropped points in six of their last twelve home games, and that is why a double chance bet on the visitors makes the most sense.

We’re confident that a double chance bet on Ukraine will payout this weekend and we have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. The visitors are the form favourites and haven’t lost in ten matches, while Serbia have the home advantage but also have a habit of dropping points in their own backyard. The motivation is certainly with Serbia this weekend but Ukraine are playing so consistently and have plenty of momentum, so we have backed the pair to cancel each other out on Sunday and for the game to end in a 1-1 draw.
