Shakhter Soligorsk vs Torino Predictions

Torino are hoping to wrap up this Europa League tie in style with a potential clash against Wolves looming. The Serie A side are enjoying their surprise return to Europe, but can they continue their winning run? They’ve been brilliant in Europe so far and the attacking record they’ve built up is likely to get them over the line. With a big gap in quality on show here we think it’s wise to expect a few goals for the visitors this week.

Shakhter Soligorsk are hoping to build on their 6-0 win over Neman Grodno at the weekend. Reproduce that result here and they’d be into the playoff round of the qualifiers. However, like in the first leg, it seems like Shakhter will come up short against quality opposition. Their heavy first-leg loss was their first encounter with a side from Europe’s big five leagues, while there was clearly a gulf between the pair in their last meeting. Just a week on we don’t see how that can be closed.

Torino are waiting for the return of Serie A later this month, but they’ve enjoyed their summer so far. They were a late promotion to the Europa League, forcing them to change preseason plans and hastily arrange their European trips. However, that hasn’t hit the side on the pitch, with Torino in great form against their opponents in the qualifying rounds so far. While that won’t be the case against Premier League side Wolves next time out, we at least expect the visitors to cruise into the next round.

Torino have scored 12 times across their last three European games, with forward Andrea Belotti adjusting to this competition with ease. The frontman has scored in every game so far and he’ll be out to keep that run going when his side visits Minsk this week. The visitors are on a roll with five straight wins behind them, while they’ve managed to keep a clean sheet in two of their three games in this competition so far. We struggle to see anything but another comfortable win for Torino here.

With the Italian side scoring at least three times in their last five matches in all competitions, we think that over 1.5 Torino goals is a great value bet this week. The hosts were hammered in their first taste of meeting a top side and we don’t see them learning the ropes in time for this game. With the visitors cruising through the last four with seven goals to their name we expect them to add at least another two to last week’s 5-0 victory.
