Shamrock Rovers vs Dundalk Predictions

Shamrock and Dundalk on unsteady ground

Shamrock Rovers no longer appear bulletproof after two straight defeats but could still go back to the top of the Premier Division with a win on Friday over a Dundalk side dealing with its own problems.

Dundalk have gone three games without a win and don’t tend to enjoy this fixture, losing the last meeting 4-0 back in March.

But Shamrock are severely depleted for this latest encounter after Sean Hoare, Johnny Kenny and Richard Towell were all sent off in their shock defeat to Cork City last time out.

The trio add to a lengthy list of absentees boss Stephen Bradley is currently having to deal with and will need to dig deep if they want to reclaim top spot.

Goals may flow at Tallaght

The 1-0 loss to Cork brought to an end a run of scoring in 12 straight games for Shamrock, but they are expected to be back amongst the goals when facing Dundalk.

The visitors have shipped seven goals across their last three games, but have at least found the net in two of those games in response, while they’ve only failed to score four times all season.

Dundalk are good enough to take advantage of a depleted Shamrock side and bag, although it may count for little with a slight lean towards correct score prediction favouring the home side.

Rovers have scored three against Dundalk on two of their last three visits and could bag a few more on Friday.
