Sligo Rovers vs Waterford United Predictions

Waterford boss John Sheridan was in the news for reportedly dismissing the stature of the league on Friday evening but there is little wrong with how he has fared so far as Blues boss.

The Munster side have beaten Shelbourne and very nearly Dundalk, both on the road, since the former Ireland international took over. They travel to the Showgrounds to take on Sligo Rovers, who suffered a dire 3-0 reversal in Cork on Friday.

That result was out of kilter with Liam Buckley’s team’s form post-lockdown. All in all it is hard to know what to expect here, with Sligo marginal favourites behind closed doors.

The draw looks the best value. There is not much to split these teams and Waterford will have no fear of the home side on recent form. 

Buckley will be looking for a response from Sligo, both of these teams potential candidates for fourth place if they go on a good run or relegation if they go on a bad one.
