Sporting Lisbon can close in on European berth

Sporting Lisbon still have plenty to play for in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and that could be bad news for struggling visitors Vitoria Setubal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Sporting will be eager to tighten their grasp on third spot and a consequent place in next season’s Europa League with victory, especially as their final game of the campaign is a tricky trip to Benfica.

Setubal have lost two of their last three away matches in the league by at least two goals and will be taking on a Lisbon outfit with plenty of attacking quality.

Sporting have attacking quality to run out comfortable winners

Although top scorer Bruno Fernandes departed for Manchester United in January, forwards Luiz Phellype and Luciano Vietto have 16 goals between them this season and can help the hosts to a comprehensive win.

In terms of a correct score prediction, it is worth noting that Sporting Lisbon have kept 11 league clean sheets this campaign and the lack of attacking quality in Setubal’s ranks suggests they may fail to get on the scoresheet.
