St Mirren vs Ross County Predictions

Ross County travels to Paisley this weekend in search of their first win since September as they are hosted by bottom-placed St Mirren. Can the hosts pick up a much-needed 3 points? Read on for all our Scottish Premiership predictions and betting tips.

St Mirren remained in 12th place going into the international break as the Paisley club extended their losing and winless streak to 3 games after managing to defeat St Johnstone in mid-October

The Buddies’ home games have seen very little amounts of goals, with a mere 20% of their home ties seeing over 1.5 goals. The club has also only scored an average of 0.6 goals whilst also only conceding 0.2 times on average- keeping a clean sheet in 80% of games at the Simple Digital Arena. Moreover, St Mirren has yet to see both teams score in their home ties and only 25% of games overall.

Over in Dingwall, Ross County has seen a lot more goals on their travels than their next hosts to at home. The club has seen over 2.5 goals in 71% of their away days and the Staggies net an average of 0.86 goals, failing to score in 57% of those ties.

This is far from the stats that the Victoria Park outfit had at the beginning of the season and they now struggle to convert their chances whilst also looking shaky at the back. Steven Ferguson & Stuart Kettlewell’s side has conceded an average of 2 goals on their travels, keeping a clean sheet in just 29% of those matches.

St Mirren needs to get back to their winning ways if they’re going to survive the drop this season. The club struggles to score in their home games but has also been solid at the back, whilst Ross County doesn’t score that often and has conceded a considerable amount of goals. However, the Staggies have only lost twice in their 7 away fixtures, also drawing 4 of them so Ross County double chance is a good shout here- especially as the hosts have only won 2 of their 5 home ties. We’re also going to back a final score of 0-0, as the Buddies have had that outcome in 2 of their last 3 games at the Simple Digital Arena and a couple Ross County’s away trips have ended goalless.
