Sorry Stuttgart may struggle

Stuttgart’s survival credentials took a big blow last time out as they lost to rock-bottom Schalke in what was their 21st consecutive away league game without a victory.

Returning home is unlikely to provide much remedy either given that they only ended an all-time Bundesliga record run of 31 home games without a clean sheet in their last game here. Although it’s likely that Bayern’s meagre goal difference lead at the top could be provisionally cut by the time this game kicks off, they’ll know that victory is a must if they want to repel the chasers in any case given that the Bundesliga top-five are separated by just five points ahead of the weekend’s action.
