Swindon vs Woking Predictions

Although the bulk of this weekend’s FA Cup action is taking place on Saturday afternoon, the fun does not stop there as the action continues into Sunday. One of the fixtures taking place for our viewing pleasure this weekend is the clash between League Two’s Swindon Town and the National League South’s league leaders, Woking FC.

For the hosts they go into this weekends match knowing that victory over Woking this weekend would be their first three-match win streak since the turn of the year. The last time Town did three on the spin started with victory over Notts County on New Year’s Eve, and ended on 13th January with another single-goal win over Forest Green. In the build up to this match Town have managed a 1-0 victory away at Port Vale before sealing a thrilling 3-2 win over Stevenage.

Woking are flying in National League South following the relegation to the division last season and they currently find themselves top of the table. The Cardinals have won four on the bounce in all competitions, seeing off Folkestone, Slough Town and Gloucester. The visitors have also got form in this competition as just last season they managed to take League One’s Peterborough to a replay after beating Bury in the first round. The success that Woking have managed in the National League South has been built largely on the back of their ability to earn a result on the road, something which they will have to rely on if they are to qualify for the next round of the cup.

The hosts are the big favourites for this match and given the distance between the two sides in the league structure, there is a good reason why. However, an out of sorts York City almost earned a positive result in the last round, so the chances of an in form and highly confident side from the same sort of level upsetting the odds is a perfectly reasonable bet to make. With this in mind, we think that backing Woking on the ‘Double Chance’ market represents a great option for a decent return.
