Toronto FC vs Chicago Fire Predictions

Toronto will be looking to make it four wins from their opening four matches when they take on Chicago Fire in the MLS on Saturday. The visitors arrive having picked up their first victory of the season last weekend and will be aiming to build upon that result by earning their first points away from home on Saturday.

Toronto crushed New York City 4-0 last time out, with a goal from Altidore in the twenty-ninth minute getting the ball rolling. Pozuelo scored a spot kick shortly before the hour mark and twenty minutes later the very same player made it 3-0. Chapman completed the scoring with seven minutes left on the clock and Toronto picked up their third win of the season. An own goal early in the second half from Parker proved enough for Chicago Fire to claim all three points at home to New York RB last time out, and on the balance of play the hosts just did enough to deserve the win.

The recent head to head record between these two clubs and their performances in the MLS so far this season, all point towards both teams scoring on Saturday and at least three goals being scored during the ninety minutes. Both teams have scored in five of the last six encounters between these two clubs, over 2.5 goals have been scored in each of their last six meetings, and Toronto have won four of their last five matches against Chicago Fire. Both teams have scored in three of Toronto’s last four and four of Chicago Fire’s last six matches, while over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of Toronto’s last five and two of Chicago Fire’s last four matches. All of the above points towards goals being scored on Saturday at both ends of the pitch, with Toronto the most likely of the two teams to go on and win the game.

Altidore, Bradley, and Pozuelo have all scored two goals each in the MLS for Toronto this season, while Sapong, who also has two goals, is the only Chicago Fire player to have scored more than once in the league this season. We’re confident that both teams will score and that over 2.5 goals will be scored in Saturday’s game, and have predicted a final score of 3-1 in favour of the hosts Toronto. Toronto have won every game so far this season and have the home advantage against a Chicago Fire side that they have a good recent head to head record against. Both teams have been scoring and conceding goals on a regular basis of late, something we expect to see continue on Saturday.
