Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps predictions for Saturday’s match in the MLS. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Reason For Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps Betting Tips

Victory for Toronto last weekend saw the Canadians move to within seven points of sixth placed Montreal Impact, and with their game in hand, there is still an outside chance they could qualify for the play-offs. On Saturday Toronto play host to fellow Canadians Vancouver Whitecaps, whose 3-0 defeat at La Galaxy means they sit eighth in the Western Conference and six points behind Real Salt Lake who currently occupy the final play-off position.

A tenth minute strike from Penilla saw New England take the lead in Toronto last weekend, but a thirty-sixth minute goal from Toronto’s top scorer Giovinco saw the teams go in level at the interval. That goal before the break appeared to rejuvenate the hosts and just eight minutes into the second half, Janson scored to put Toronto in front.

The hosts control over this match became even stronger when Víctor Vázquez converted a fifty-eighth minute penalty to make it 3-1. New England had to score next if they were going to get anything from the match, but that goal never materialised and instead Delgado netted in the eighty-first minute, to wrap up a 4-1 win for Toronto.

Giovinco has scored twelve goals in the league this season for Toronto, while teammate Osorio has scored ten, and Vázquez has chipped in with eight. Giovinco is also the clubs leading assist provider in 2018, setting up six goals for his teammates in the MLS. With thirteen goals in the league this season Kamara top scores for Vancouver Whitecaps, while Uruguay’s Techera has scored eight times from midfield and is just one goal away from his own personal best in a single season.

A fourth minute penalty from veteran forward Ibrahimović set LA Galaxy on their way to a comfortable 3-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps. The same player doubled the hosts lead in the fifty-eighth minute after good work from Feltscher, but the Swede was denied a possible hat trick when in the seventy-seventh minute Galaxy were awarded another penalty and instead of stepping up to take it himself, teammate Alessandrini took on the responsibility and wrapped up a 3-0 win.

Vancouver have now lost their last three games and must turn then form around this weekend if they are to push for a play-off finish, as the Canadians have four games left to play this season. Both Toronto and Vancouver Whitecaps head into this weekends game having picked up two wins and suffered four defeats from their last six MLS matches, and neither can afford to lose on Saturday.

We’re confident that both teams will score and that over 2.5 goals will be produced when Toronto host Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, and have backed the game to finish in a 3-2 victory for the home side. Both teams have scored and over 2.5 goals have been produced in five of the last seven meetings between these two clubs. Both teams have scored and over 2.5 goals have been produced in four of Toronto’s last six matches and in five of Vancouver Whitecaps’ last six matches, which is why we expect at least three goals and for both teams to find the back of the net on Saturday.

Head to Head

These two sides have met eighteen times before, and with 10 wins, 4 draws, and 4 defeats it's Toronto who lead the head to head record.

Toronto FC Team News

Toronto FC Team Badge Jozy Altidore is the only injury concern for the hosts after coming off in the eighteenth minute of the 4-1 win over New England last weekend.

Vancouver Whitecaps Team News

Vancouver Whitecaps Team Badge Brett Levis has been ruled out, while there are doubts over the fitness of Aaron Maund and Brian Rowe for the trip to Toronto.
