With just two promotion places up for grabs, falling out of the Football League can take years for a side to reclaim their spot, which is exactly what Tranmere have found since they were demoted. After falling at the final hurdle last time out, Tranmere Rovers will be hoping that they are able to go one better this time around when they face off against Boreham Wood in the play-off final at Wembley this Saturday.

Tranmere are one of, if not the, biggest name in non-league football at the moment and they have enjoyed a season to remember, pushing eventual champions Macclesfield to the final few matches in a race for the only automatic promotion spot. However, we think that they will be able to put the disappointment to one side and claim a victory, and with it promotion, against Boreham Wood.

Rovers perhaps took their eye off the ball in the final few weeks of the season and they finished the regular campaign with back to back defeats at home to Solihull Moors and Hartlepool United. This lack of intensity took a while to recover from as they needed extra time to conquer Ebbsfleet United in the play-off semi finals, although they eventually ran out 4-2 winners.

This, combined with the fact that their opponents have thrown caution to the wind in the final few weeks in a bid to gain the final of the promotion spots, leads us to believe we could be in for quite an open and entertaining game. In light of this, we think that combining our initial tip of a Tranmere win with both teams to score looks to be an excellent way to increase the odds for those of you willing to take on a higher risk.

One man who looks to be key is Tranmere top scorer Andy Cook. The 27-year-old has 26 goals to his name already this season and with 12 goals in his previous 11 outings, and although he failed to add to his tally against Ebbsfleet last time out, he looks a good bet to score this weekend.
