Watford vs Stoke Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Watford bounced back from a humiliating 6-1 thrashing at Liverpool in excellent fashion last weekend as they beat Premier League champions Leicester 2-1 at home to make it three wins, two draws, and just one defeat from their last six outings in the Premier League.

This puts them in a very respectable 8th position in the Premier League despite their poor start to the campaign, and at home they have managed three wins and one draw in their last four outings.

It was midfield maestro Etienne Capoue who bagged a very quick opener against Leicester last weekend to take his goals tally to five for the season, two more than star striker Troy Deeney. Three of these five goals have come at Vicarage Road as well, so backing him for our anytime goalscorer predictions at huge odds of 15/4 looks a very good choice.

Stoke have a few talents of their own though. Joe Allen has bagged four league goals this season but Xherdan Shaqiri is the real star. Despite injuries he has netted three goals in his three away appearances this season, so backing to him find the net at 15/4 is a good choice too.

Stoke’s resurgence ended last weekend as Bournemouth surprisingly beat them 1-0 at the bet365 Stadium. This ended a six match unbeaten streak for Stoke as they bounced back from a tragically poor start to the season. Now the Potters will just be hoping they can return to winning ways quickly and keep climbing the Premier League ladder.

I’m not expecting any clean sheets here. Watford have managed to find the net in all of their home games this season and have only failed to score in two of their 13 games home and away. Stoke have scored in eight of their last nine as well and have only failed to score in one of their away days this term.

To make a Stoke goal even more likely they are facing a Watford side who have conceded seven of their 20 goals from set pieces, whilst five of Stoke’s 13 goals have come from set plays. This makes odds of 3/4 for Both Teams to Score a good value looking prediction, and I’m going for that alongside a 2-1 win for Watford at 9/1 for my correct score predictions.
