Willem II vs Heracles predictions for Sundays’s match in the Eredivisie. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Reason For Willem II vs Heracles Betting Tips

Willem II and Heracles will have been very pleased to get their first wins of the new season last weekend, and one could make it back to back victories on Sunday when they clash in the Eredivisie. Willem II recovered from a disappointing loss at home to VVV by taking all three points in their first away game of the campaign against Groningen. Heracles built on their excellent 1-1 draw away at Ajax with an impressive 4-2 victory over Den Haag and are already looking like a top half of the table side this season.

Both Groningen and Willem II had lost their opening games of the season which added extra tension to their Eredivisie clash last weekend, especially as the two were both battling relegation together until the latter stages of the previous campaign and wanted to avoid a poor start to the new season.

The game itself was tight and tense as many had expected, with both teams creating just a handful of goal scoring opportunities each. The deadlock was broken by the only Englishman in either squad that day, Dan Crowley, and it was the former Barnsley and Oxford United midfielder’s thirty-third minute strike that separated the two clubs at the half time break.

Mendes Moreira and Antuna both came on at half time for the hosts, but failed to have the desired impact as they defended manfully and restricted the home side to mostly distance shots that failed to trouble goalkeeper Wellenreuther. Willem II hung on to collect an important three points that kept Groningen at the foot of the table and moved the visitors into mid table.

Fran Sol has had a slow start to the season for Willem II and is yet to get off the mark, but there is a lot expected of the Spanish striker who scored 16 league goals in a struggling Willem II side last season. Keep your eye on the forward this weekend as you can bet on him being hungry to open his account in front of his own fans and kick start his latest campaign in the red, white, and blue of Willem II.

After drawing on the opening day in Amsterdam against Dutch giants Ajax, Heracles fans will have expected rather than hoped for a win when they played host to Den Haag, and that’s just what they got.

Two goals inside the first seven minute thrust Heracles into a 2-0 lead in front of their own fans, with Peterson netting a third minute penalty and teammate van Hintum doubling their advantage shortly after.

However, the visitors struck back through Malone in the twelfth minute and then an own goal from the unfortunate Breukers levelled the sides with just under forty minutes on the clock. Heracles responded well and restored their lead just before the half time interval when Adrián Dalmau slotted the ball home.

That goal just before the break appeared to knock the stuffing out of Den Haag during the second forty-five, and when Peterson scored his second goal of the game in the sixty-eighth minute it wrapped up all three points for the hosts. Heracles sit fourth in the table following last weekends win and will be aiming to keep themselves in the European places with another three points on Sunday.

The form guide and head to head record between these two clubs suggests that Heracles are the favourites, but as we saw last season Willem II can score plenty of goals on their day and Fran Sol is one of the deadliest strikers in the league.

We’re confident that Heracles will pick up something from Sunday’s visit to Willem II and have backed the visitors with a double chance bet. Heracles have won four and drawn one of their last six matches against Willem II, and the hosts have lost three of their last six matches and only won two. Heracles have only lost one of their last six matches and have picked up a win and a draw from their opening two games of the season. In terms of a final score, we’re backing Heracles with a narrow 2-1 win.

Head to Head

These two clubs have locked horns twenty-six times over the years, and with 14 win, 4 draws, and 8 defeats it's Heracles who have built up a significant head to head advantage.

Willem II Team News

Willem II Team Badge Ismail Azzaoui and Jordens Peters are both still struggling with knee injuries and Croux was replaced at half time during Willem II's 1-0 win at Groningen and could miss Sunday's game.

Heracles Team News

Heracles Team Badge Sebastian Jakubiak and Jeff Hardeveld both missed last weekends 4-2 win over Den Haag, and their knee injuries look set to keep them out of action this weekend as well.
