Wolverhampton to Win

Reason for tip

Wolves have a strong defensive record and they’ve struck first in their last two games. They meet a Leicester side who have lost every away game this term, while the visitors have conceded in 30 of their last 31 away league games. Back Wolves to capitalise on that and grind out a vital home win.

Wolverhampton 1-0

Reason for tip

Wolves have won 1-0 in two of their last three home games, while they’ve got one of the best home defensive records in the league. Leicester have conceded at least once in 30 of their last 31 away league games, while just one of the last six meetings between these two have seen both teams score.

Wolverhampton vs Leicester City Predictions

  • Leicester have conceded 3.8 goals per away game this term
  • The Foxes have conceded in 30 of their last 31 away league games
  • Wolves have won two of their last three home games 1-0
  • The away side has never won in the 10 Premier League meetings between these two

Two sides hoping for better

There have been signs of life for both of these sides of late, but the pair remain in trouble ahead of Sunday’s showdown. Wolves were able to beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 last weekend, before taking the lead again in a midweek loss at Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Leicester have picked up four points in the last seven days after home clashes with Leeds and Palace. However, their away form has been a long-running problem for Brendan Rodgers, so will the visitors’ turn in fortunes last beyond the weekend?

Foxes’ road issues

Leicester have the worst away record in the Premier League this term, with five defeats from five. That awful return saw them go from a 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest at home to a 2-1 defeat at struggling Bournemouth in their last away trip.

The visitors have shipped a huge 3.8 goals per game on the road this term. However, their defensive issues have been present on the road for a long time, having conceded in 30 of their last 31 league trips.

Wolves can claim victory

Wolves appointed Steve Davis as manager through the rest of 2022 and he has a chance to stabilise the club in that time. He’s working with some strong foundations despite their struggles, with the club conceding just four times in their five home games to date.

I am backing Wolves to break down a Leicester defence which has long struggled away from home. The away team has never won in any of the 10 Premier League meetings between these two and I don’t expect that to change on Sunday, with the hosts good value for the points and a third 1-0 home win in four games.
